Macroconidia: Thick-walled, falcate, with a distinctive curvature, particularly in the apical cell, which can be whip-like. Basal cells distinctly foot-shaped

Chlamydospores: Abundant, produced in chains and clumps, rough-walled.
Perfect State: Gibberella intricans Wollenw.
On PDA: rapid growth, profuse aerial mycelium that is white, becoming tan, with tan to brown undersurface that may be carmine red. Orange sporodochia may be present in older cultures.
